Description

Advanced PreCalver 470 is a specialist blend supplying all the mineral and vitamin requirements and a balance of anionic salts to create a partial DCAB status for the transitional Dairy Cow in the last 3-4 weeks of pregnancy. This improves the availability of calcium at and immediately after calving, which improves smooth muscle function, minimises the incidence of retained cleansings, sub clinical and clinical milk fevers.

In addition, the high levels of key minerals and vitamins, particularly Vitamin E, help to boost the cow’s immune system which gets the cow off to the best possible, healthy start to the next lactation.

Target DCAB level in final feed -70 to -130 mEq/kg DM

We also offer Advanced PreCalver 550 with a higher level of calcium, and Advanced Precalver 620 for those who require a stronger DCAB. Advanced PreCalver 620 also provides a higher level of calcium so these options may avoid the requirement for feeding additional limestone.

Advanced PreCalver 500 RXC and Advanced PreCalver 650 RXC are also available. These are based on the 470 and 620 products but with the addition of ReaShure XC protected choline. Protected choline supports fat metabolism, supports milk and milk fat synthesis and reduces the risk of fatty liver and ketosis.

All of the above products are also available with Mepron protected Methionine.

Usage

  • Advanced PreCalver is designed to be mixed into a TMR and to be fed for the last 3 – 4 weeks of the dry period
  • Feed rates on farm will vary depending on the dry cow diet being fed. Typical feed rates:
    • PreCalver 470 — 470g/h/day
    • PreCalver 500 RXC — 500g/h/day
    • PreCalver 550 — 550g/h/day
    • PreCalver 620 — 620g/h/day
    • PreCalver 650 RXC — 650g/h/day
  • Immediately withdraw the supplement post calving and move on to a lactating dairy mineral
  • A specialist nutritionist should be consulted before feeding a partial DCAB transition ration
  • Best before 6 months from date of manufacture
  • Store in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight
