Description
Actisaf Yeast farm-pack is a concentrated thermostable live yeast product on a limestone granular base designed to increase rumen efficiency, increase milk yields and improve animal health. It is particularly useful for high yielding cows giving over 8,000 litres on a high sugar and starch diet or on poor quality forage.
Actisaf Sc 47 is a special strain of live yeast that is particularly suited to the dairy cow and has been developed by Phileo Lesaffre, the worlds largest producer of yeast.
Mode of Action
Actisaf Sc 47 scavenges oxygen from the rumen, encouraging the growth of anaerobic bacteria and discouraging the growth of lactic acid-producing bacteria, thereby stabilising rumen pH. Specifically it inhibits the growth of Strep bovis, a lactic acid-producing bacteria. It stimulates the activity of lactic acid utilising bacteria and encourages the proliferation of cellulolytic bacteria which favour fibre digestion.
